I attended the start of the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009 in Alicante, Spain, and also saw the arrival of some of the boats into Rio, Brasil. I watched the in-port race in Rio and Stockholm in February and April 2009 respectively. It is a truly awe-inspiriing sport, and the photos here are just to give a feel for the race.
